A message from Shaw Rivera, administrator of McKinley Care Assisted Living

We have a new tool for sharing information here at McKinley Care, and I’m excited to be the first to write a blog post for the Journal! 

The Journal will serve as a tool for more effective communication among our “family” of residents, staff, family members, and others involved in the success of McKinley Care Assisted Living. In today’s digital world, many people prefer to read their information through online sources, and we’re here to help share that information every few months with stories about what makes our facility work together to provide the best care for the people we serve. A blog is an internet-based journal (think ‘web-log’) that can tell stories, provide important information, or be a source of fun ideas. We hope to share all three with the McKinley Care Journal community - YOU!

• Resident rights and responsibilities as a member of the McKinley Care family

• What to know about assisted living facilities in Alaska

• Ways to stay healthy, including nutrition, exercise, and mental fitness

• McKinley Care’s dining services and special meals for those who need them
