Our plans for a potential Mt. Spurr eruption

We are watching all updates related to the potential eruption of Mt. Spurr. Should the volcano erupt and ashfall drift toward Anchorage and McKinley Care Assisted Living, please know the following precautions are in place: 

• Monitoring of Alaska Volcano Observatory (https://avo.alaska.edu/volcano/spurr)

• If any residents or staff are outdoors, they will be brought inside immediately

• High-rise filtration systems to capture any ash (and replacement filters as needed)

• Procedures to ensure all windows, doors, and vents are closed and latched
